Do you catch a glimpse of the finish line, yet it eludes your grasp? The sheer number of steps can be overwhelming, occasionally sapping our motivation.
Allow us to accompany you on this expedition, fostering your well-being while providing guidance through purpose, empowerment, and accountability.
Currently offering a variety of evidence-based counseling services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy.
As a therapist, I work with you to help you identify your desires and empower you to make those positive changes in your life. I understand that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental to help create an environment where you feel supported in your counseling journey.
I currently focus my practice in helping adult individuals and couples overcome anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship struggles, family changes, and parenting issues through purpose, permission and accountability.
My name is Jennifer Snipes, and I hold the titles of LCSW and LCAS. I am an African American female therapist in NC. My academic journey commenced with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy from Winston-Salem State University. This provided a foundation for working with adults facing developmental challenges within residential settings. A return to academia led me to East Carolina University, where I completed a Master of Social Work. Since then, I've been dedicated to assisting individuals grappling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use.
With over 20 years of experience, including my time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2015, I possess a wealth of experience within both public and private sectors. I've fortified my expertise with specialized training in Trauma Focused CBT, ethics, and cultural competency, among others. Throughout my career, I've partnered with diverse populations, from those with developmental delays and severe mental illness to veterans, families, and children. My journey has encompassed a spectrum of settings, ranging from acute psychiatric hospitals to women’s health services, from group homes to private and nonprofit agencies.
